Iran's new "Super Weapons?"
Read once about Iran's high-speed anti-ship missiles. This system is designed to add considerably to that capability. IT IS DESIGNED TO CHECK THE U.S. CARRIER FORCE IN THE PERSIAN GULF. This is the reason for the continued building/operation of the "superbases" in Iraq. Within a year Iran could have the ability to make the PG off limits to our "greatest military asset" during a crises.I believe the chances that we will be involved in Iran by the end of the year are now considerable.
OCTOBER SURPRISE... Maybe.
Politically, it may not help the repulicans any to talk of it or even try it this year.
The Iranians might be able to utilize assests in Iraq/Afganistan to check our army anyway. Forcing our forces to "roll-up" and stay within those bases until major air assests can be brought in to begin/attempt a breakout.
Forcing our forces into this highly defensive position they will "defeat" 43 polically in Iraq by-default. They might??? be able to win the polical "long game" in the region as well.
...TET anyone...
The Iraqi superbases will be kept forever, remembered as W's "lagacy bases." He and his followers will dare any president to remove them, if they do, blaming them for any problems that might incur in the middle/near east. Blaming those who dare with the failures of W himself. This is the political gamesmanship that Rove is going to play.
I am sure the White House new of these systems. Iran's WMD is only part of the WH reason for attacking Iran. Control of the Persian Gulf is the main reason.
Things are getting more interesting everyday. HUH...

Ideology of failure
The Neocons always were an ideology of failure.
Their version of "democratic imperialism" left out the fact that conservatives have no understanding of foreign affairs.
This is where the neocons come in!
They provide the foreign "conservative" ideals, and the WingNuts defend us come what may, cause you don't know any better. It is an endless cycle of ilogical bully'ing carried out mostly by people who never served in the military, have any concept outside their own small mindset, as well as those with a vested interest in Dear Leader's "countinued victory". This allows the NC to shift the blame and expand the "greater war".
Then something like Hamas winning the election occurs. Rice blames her staff. She means the non-neocons of course, as well as PM Abbas "The Foreigner". Denying the absense of forthought that she and her kind were a part of in the first place.
Iraq rhetoric is based on this concept of no good news must mean that the war must countinue. Dear Leader must be defended, for Dear Leader is the only truth. They are pushing for Iran for only expansion will conquer Iraq. So they must keep Iraq going before this failure is complete
